The Yuma County Board of Supervisors will hold its annual tax lien auction Feb. 27, which gives the public a chance to bid on property owners' tax debt for past years and collect interest on the lien in the future. The overall number of property liens up for grabs has gone down by about 125 from last year, to 1,625, but no larger economic trend, such as the waning of the Great Recession's foreclosure crisis, is known to be behind the drop, according to the Yuma County Treasurer's Office.
