Flint residents may see more neighborhood redevelopment and access to affordable housing thanks to one nonprofit's new membership into a national network. Metro Community Development, a Flint-based nonprofit aimed at building strong, sustainable and stable communities, now has access to exclusive grants, funding and training through its NeighborWorks membership, the group announced Wednesday afternoon, June 29. For Flint area residents, that could mean something life-changing, since Metro Community Development often offers home loans and micro business loans to those who can't get approved by banks.
