Fannie Mae has not done as much to repair and maintain foreclosed properties in minority communities as it did in majority-white areas in and around New Orleans and Baton Rouge, according to a lawsuit filed Monday by fair housing advocates who allege a similar pattern nationwide. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in San Francisco, comes after a four-year investigation of how well the federally backed mortgage company was keeping up its properties.
