To stave off foreclosure, the owner of two East Village buildings is selling them at an open auction – which is unusual in the world of high-priced Manhattan commercial properties. Uriel Marrache, who has two adjoining buildings at 24 First Ave. and 99-101 E. 2nd St., has tapped Maltz Auctions to handle the bidding Wednesday at the Hotel on Rivington, at 107 Rivington St. Last year Marrache hired brokerage firm Eastern Consolidated to market and sell the properties, which together form an L-shape around the corner of East 2nd Street and First Avenue.
