Foreclosures fell to a 12-year low in 2017, offering more evidence that the housing crash is slipping into history. According to Attom Data Solutions, foreclosure documents were filed on 676,535 U.S. properties in 2017, down 27 percent from 2016 to the lowest level since 2005.
