Dec. 05–Mercer County State Bank has filed a mortgage foreclosure action against Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department to recover more than $ 1.6 million in outstanding mortgage debt, interest and penalties the department owes the bank. “We’ve been involved in indirect and direct negotiations with the bank,” George Zeljak, president of Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire department, said Friday.
