A Freehold man who was the co-owner of a mortgage company that was responsible for a long-running, large-scale mortgage fraud scheme that caused $ 30 million in losses was sentenced this week to 21 months in prison, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced. Lester Soto, 59, of Freehold, who previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Esther Salas to two counts of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, also was ordered to pay more than $ 3.7 million in restitution, according to a news release from Fishman’s office.
