Demolition in two of the state’s most challenged cities – Detroit and Flint – will get a federal boost of $ 55 million to tear down blighted structures, the U.S. Department of Treasury announced today. The government awarded an additional $ 74.5 million in “Hardest Hit” funds to Michigan to help stabilize the housing market in the state.
