While the national foreclosure crisis no longer commands much attention, a seven-year-old lawsuit tied to the foreclosure of a Centerville, Ohio, home continues to wind its way through the federal court system, at times getting national attention – and illustrating the enduring problems created by the crisis. The case highlights “the problem of questionable legal fees levied on troubled borrowers,” The New York Times wrote in a story on the lawsuit in 2012.
