Acushnet selectmen authorized Town Treasurer and Tax Collector Kristie Costa to move forward March 14 with a plan to sell up to $ 855,000 in tax liens filed by the town for unpaid property taxes and accrued interest to a firm that specializes in municipal lien purchases. Costa said she would likely seek to sell about $ 500,000 in liens filed on Acushnet property owners who have failed to make payment arrangements with her office for the unpaid taxes, often dating back a number of years.
