A St. Paul-based Christian commune has filed for bankruptcy protection in an effort to avoid foreclosure of 30-some properties that could put its 470 members on the street. Christ’s Household of Faith filed its Chapter 11 petition last month, a few days before it faced trial in a lawsuit filed by its primary mortgage holder.
