FRAMINGHAM – It was a joyful day as preservationists and descendants finally took control Friday of the former home of accused witch Sarah Clayes. Local attorney Stephen Meltzer said mortgage holder Goldman Sachs transferred the title for the Sarah and Peter Clayes House, 657 Salem End Road, to the group striving to save the vacant, dilapidated, 322-year-old so-called “witch house.” The recording in the South Middlesex Registry of Deeds came after Goldman Sachs exercised its right to take the property at a foreclosure auction in October.
