Vacant for years except for squatters, the three-story brick structure at 1000 Market St., Harrisburg, has trees growing out of the roof and boarded-up windows, and is scheduled for Dauphin County sheriff’s sale Jan. 21. Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency wants to gain ownership of the building from a developer who essentially walked away from the property, said Brian Hudson, PHFA executive director. The sheriff sale is part of the foreclosure process, Hudson said, so PHFA can recoup the $ 398,000 it has invested in the property.
