While other metropolitan areas nationwide have recovered from the housing crisis, the Baltimore area is wading through a second wave of short sales and foreclosure sales that could continue to be a drag on the real estate market into 2017. While home prices continue to rise elsewhere, the median sales price of $ 235,000 in the Baltimore area slipped nearly 2 percent in October from the year before, according to RealEstate Business Intelligence, an affiliate of the region’s multiple-listing service.
