Celebrities — they’re just like us! Like us, they have reality TV shows based on being the offspring of one of O.J. Simpson’s attorneys. Like us, their sex tapes get “leaked” to the internet and they have 72-day marriages to NBA players. And just like us, their insurance companies handle fender benders for them.

TMZ is reporting that a lawsuit against Kim Kardashian stemming a traffic accident on Sunset Boulevard in 2014 has been settled by Kardashian’s insurance company. But for how much?

Totally Fine

Kardashian was sued last year by the other driver in the accident, Rafael Linares. He claimed he suffered personal injuries and his vehicle was damaged after Kardashian negligently hit his car. He sued Kardashian seeking damages his past and future medical expenses, the cost for the repair of his car, and money he spent during the “loss of use” of his vehicle. Linares claimed he was “gainfully employed” before the fender bender, but has been “deprived of earnings” since and sought compensation for his “loss of income” as well as attorneys’ fees.

Sources close to Kardashian disputed his account, describing the damage as “minimal” to TMZ and saying Linares was “totally fine.”

Peanuts

The exact terms of the settlement have not been revealed or released, and TMZ’s report was pretty vague: “Sources close to the situation tell us … Kim’s fender bender case from a car accident in 2014 has been settled through her insurance — she didn’t have to fork over any dough.” Though the title reads the case was settled “For Peanuts,” TMZ did not report a settlement amount, only to note that Kardashian wouldn’t be paying any of it out of pocket.

We’re left to wonder if, just like us, celebrities’ insurance premiums go up after an accident.
